JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for an Account Manager to play a key part in building our Madison and Milwaukee commercial markets. A great candidate for this role must adapt quickly to training with the ability to follow our job processes and provide great service to customers.

As a valued Account Manager, you’ll be based out of our Middleton or New Berlin stores and will work collaboratively with managers and sales executives. We’ll provide you with the knowledge of our key products - carpet, LVT, vinyl, countertops, cabinets, tile, appliances, and more – so that you’ll be the go-to professional to help bid and win projects. Then you’ll turn on your organizational skills to manage those projects from beginning to end.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

A typical day in the role: When a new request from a customer comes in, you’ll pick up the request and put together the ultimate bid for them. You’ll pick out samples and grab some catalogues to find products that meet the customer’s request. You’ll also learn how to read blueprints and get pricing from manufacturing reps.

As you develop more experience, you could be hitting the road and visiting the customer on-site to see what you’re working with in person. This is where you’ll check out the space, take measurements, and work with the customer to find exact products that meet their needs.

When you’re not taking care of new requests from customers, you’ll be handling various tasks with current projects such as ordering and scheduling delivery and subcontractors. Some projects have a quick turnaround and others take months to complete, so you’ll need to adapt to changing demands and communicate effectively with customers and team members.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
